FSCC : The Growing

Koni-ni-nin-ni-nichiwa,

Today Flo Toh sms-ed me to say that her friend wanted a picture of FSCC from this blog, which got me thinking, since our website is not up yet, there are no pictures of us in the public domain, only on Facebook, where we share amongst ourselves.

Anyway, I took these shots last Sunday:

Sally D was preaching. This week the chairs were arranged in cinema style.

After service we usually have hospitality time, where we talk over snacks and coffee.

Attack of the hungry-and-penniless .

Last Sunday's hospitality table was a war zone. If you're wondering, the food was prepared by Yune- carrot cake and Chili con Carne.

The Young adults CG, while waiting for the students to finish a survey, was busy planning a picnic to a waterfall in Pahang.

FSCC is also becoming increasingly International, since we have people from about 10 countries (and counting) coming regularly. These include Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, Fiji, India, England,China, Iran, Caribbean Islands and of course,us.

And still..some people harbour hopes of going to Shaolin...

Finally, a shot of the dol-seot bibimbap that I had with Flo Lee last Saturday at Dae Jang Geum, Sri Petaling, before M.A.E.Day, which I didn't get any photos 'cause too busy talking to people.

Requiem

"You are obsessed with your differences,"
so says the foreigner,
who wants to write a book about us
when he goes to Europe.
And I said
"Go ahead, tell the truth"

You say, go home,
but this is my home.

Now that you are gone, White Sheep,
who will speak the truth?

Cowards!
Do not accuse me of hard work!
My only sin is sacrifice,
and all my years of anguish and fight.

There is no one to defend me,
I am a stranger in this house
the one in which I was born.

Listen you who are Blind!,
now the White Sheep is dead
you should be happy
for you drove her to her grave.

Natsu wa, sugoi, ne?

Ah-chooo! Uhm..Uhu hu..Excuse me..
The weather has been unpredictable lately,
and therefore,
yours truly is having a cold.
With the H1N1 flu still rampant, do take care of yourselves by drinking lots of water and maintaining good hygeine.
Contrary to belief, the flu is not fatal and the reported fatalities are usually tied in with other health complications like heart problems and a compromised immune systems.
Normal people usually recover within 2 weeks of contracting the virus.

On a happier note,
The Bon Odori festival was held last Saturday and as expected, the crowd was more than last year.
In last year's post, I vowed to eat more..which I did. Unagai kabayaki don, korokke, ice cream, salmon onigiri.
Next year I want to try kodomo beer or kodomo no nomimono (read more)which was being sold. This year however, Amane-san bought us Suntory's new green tea drink (domo, domo), which I found very bitter, but suitable to drink with oily foods like unagi.

Proof that race and religion is no barrier to enjoying yourself and learning new cultures.

I was really glad to be able to wear a yukata this year.

Since my waist is larger(hahaaha) than the average person, I took to sewing my own obi, which was quite easy and fun. Usually I'd sew it while sitting in front of my computer, with a anime or drama playing, in the wee hours when everyone was asleep.

When my eyes get tired, I'll rest them by looking up at the wall, with all these posters ( if you're wondering, no I didn't go to all these plays, only some of them)

This year at the Obon festival, I got to meet my fellow YUI-lovers again. Amane-san and Muzamil-san were also wearing Yukatas.

This year's uchiwa were blue in colour and they looked really beautiful when the dancers waved them in the air simultaneously.

The guest performance that night was by students from various Japanese language schools and Universities. They performed the Soran Bushi.

I also had a chance this year to walk around the stadium taking pictures of other people's beautiful Yukata before the Odori sessions started.
Happy obon. Summer is just beginning. I still have MMU GACC's Chibi Matsuri to go for, so I'm looking forward for that

Lastly, YUI lovers 3rd collaboration, and there are many Malaysians taking part this year, including the coordinator (atheon), ccddss, kippei and natsumi. Mine is track No. 3.

The YL collab. is an annual project where we send our covers to YUI herself, and this is the first time I'm participating. The incredible artwork of the booklet is done by Elkikino! the artist of Yupi-Locks who is from Chile.
